Am I entitled to become a member of the practicing Jewish community?
Both my parents are Jewish. I was not given a Jewish education and did not become a bar mitzvah, but I have some knowledge of Judaism from my Bubela. Today I think I should be living more "Jewishly." Am I in a position to go to a synagogue, join a congregation, speak to a rabbi..? I don't want to be disrespectful to any orthodox member of Judaism and only want to pursue this further if I am entitled to do so.
