Step 9: Cast Away Sins via Tashlich

It is customary after the afternoon service on the first day of Rosh Hashanah, to go to a body of water and to symbolically cast away one's sins. This service is called Tashlich.

While standing by the water, several verses from the books of Micha and Psalms are recited expressing the desire for the sins to be carried away.
