Question: Is it a Jewish custom to remove the wedding ring while sleeping?

Dear Rabbi Enkin,
Is there a Jewish custom of removing the wedding ring at night before sleeping and replacing it on the finger in the morning upon waking?
Thanks, Rich

Answer: Dear Rich,

There is no Jewish custom concerning the wearing of wedding rings. It is perfectly acceptable to remove one's wedding ring before going to sleep if you find it more comfortable. In fact - there is no obligation to ever wear one's wedding ring following the wedding!
