What if my bar mitzvah date was wrong?

Question: What if my bar mitzvah date was wrong?

Dear Rabbi,
My parents delayed the date of my bar mitzvah out of convenience. I am aware that I automatically become a bar mitzvah when I turned 13. But I wonder if there was something not kosher about reading Torah in honor of my bar mitzvah just months after my 13th birthday. Is there anything I should be doing now to retroactively make my bar mitzvah more kosher?
Thank you, Sam

Answer: Dear Sam,

You have nothing at all to worry about. It is of no consequence when you had an Aliyah "in honour" of you Bar-Mitzva.

The important thing now is to continue to study Torah and Judaism and become the best Jew that you can be.

Best wishes,

Rabbi Ari Enkin
