What “Do Good” projects work in my family?

  • At the grocery store, have your children choose one extra item to donate to someone who is hungry.
  • Ask your children if they want to choose one item (clothes, toys, books) to give to someone who needs it.
  • Have your children sort recycling or visit the recycling center with you.
  • As a family, participate in Mitzvah Day at your synagogue or school.
  • Model the mitzvah of honoring parents. The encourage your children to call their grandparents regularly. Allowing them to dial the numbers gives them added incentive.
  • Model learning about Judaism. Then study Judaism together with your children.
  • Model giving tzedakah. Then ask your children if they want to donate a portion of their allowance to tzedakah.
