Jerusalem's Pedestrian Mall: The Midrachov

Jerusalem's Pedestrian Mall

Jerusalem's Pedestrian Mall is called the "Midrachov."

Nahum Dimer(atz)
The Midrachov, Jerusalem's outdoor Pedestrian mall, is the main place where Jerusalem tourists walk around to eat and shop. The main part of the Midrachov is Ben Yehuda street. Places like KFC, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Blues Brothers (steak house), Ben and Jerry's, Big Apple Pizza, and many falafel and shawarma joints can be found on the Midrachov. At the bottom of the Midrachov (seen in this photo), near Zion Square, gift shops, bazaar stores and t-shirt stores are located. Further down the midrachov, in Zion Square, one can find Bonkers Bagels and Dunkin' Donuts. Even though the Midrachov has been the target of many terrorist bombings, the outdoor mall continues to be a magnet for young Israelis and tourists looking for a night out on the town.
