Israel Independence Day Picnics
You haven't celebrated Independence Day in Israel if you haven't had a cookout. On the radio, the announcers change the words of the Israeli Independence Day song from "kol ha'aretz, degalim, degalim" (the whole county, flags, flags) to "kol ha'aretz, mangalim, mangalim" (the whole country, barbecues, barbecues)." Last year we picnicked in Park Canada next to a family of Israeli Arabs. Everyone exploits this opportunity to enjoy Israel's outdoors.
