Almaya: Association for the Advancement of the Ethiopian Family
ALMAYA originated as the "Community and Educational Project for Beta Israel", established with the support of the Bernard van Leer Foundation in 1985 in Beer-Sheva, Israel. ALMAYA aims to advance the effective absorption of Beta-Israel community and its families in the larger Israeli society through preservation of Beta-Israel heritage and community pride.
