Dairy Menu for the Yom Kippur Pre-Fast Meal

Many people like to eat a lot of carbohydrates before the Yom Kippur fast. In my opinion, it is easier to serve a hi-carb meal using dairy, rather than meat, recipes. Along with these recipes, I put out fresh, dark breads (from the bakery) and butter.
Broccoli-Cheese Roll
I love this recipe. It is easy to make, festive to serve, and contains a vegetable my kids will eat.
Dairy Corn Kugel
If serving this before the Yom Kippur fast, put as little salt and soup mix into it as possible. The hi-carb content in this recipe make it ideal for serving before the Yom Kippur fast.
Easy Fettuccine Alfredo
This is the perfect recipe to serve with a slice of dark bread on the side. And no one wants to be tiring themselves out in the kitchen before Yom Kippur, thus the "easy" part of this recipe is appealing.
Old-Fashioned Sweet Dairy Noodle Kugel
This Old-Fashioned Sweet Dairy Noodle Kugel is a great side dish to serve both before and after the Yom Kippur fast.
Pumpkin Kugel
I like to include pumpkin recipes in my Yom Kippur menu as pumpkin is in season this time of the year. This recipe, which is adapted from a recipe from my sister-in-law's friend, is a bit messy to make, but there are never any left-overs in my home.
Sara's Sweet Potato Soup
This is a delicious soup that can be served before the Yom Kippur fast. Batata, the Hebrew word for sweet potato, are in season in Israel during the High Holy Days.
