A BRIEF HISTORY OF JEWISH SECTS > Page 1, 2, 3, 4

Yoseif Yaron (yoseif_yaron@karaism.com) received his degree in analytic philosophy, focusing on logic and the philosophy of language. He is also a student of Biblical literature and Jewish history. He received his training in Karaism under the direction of Hakham Dr. Avraham Qanaï, from whom he still learns unmeasurable amounts of information. Currently, Mr. Yaron is the Director of Karaism.com (http://www.karaism.com, http://www.karaites.org ), the Internet presence of the education division of the Karaite Jews of America. He also serves on the board of the al-Qirqisani Center for the Promotion of Karaite Studies, which, with the cooperation of the Jewish Quarterly Review, is working on a publication of over 100 years of Karaite Studies. Mr. Yaron is the editor of "Angels and Fire: The Commentaries of Yefet ibn Ali Hallewi on Daniel and Nahum."

The Karaite Jews of America (KJA) is a national organization, based in Daly City, California, that represents Karaite Jews across the country. It has been in existence, formally, in the United States for over forty years. Though there are Karaite communities in many major cities across the United States such as Chicago and Los Angeles, the largest concentration of Karaites is in the San Francisco Bay area, where the KJA is based.
