If you
think the question is "Who Wants to be a Millionaire," then you are missing
something. The real question is "Who Wants to be a Maccabee!" The
Maccabees are the heroes of the Hanukkah story. It is believed the source of their
tenacity, which enabled them to drive the Assyrians out of Judea against great
odds, came from their steadfast faith in one God. The Maccabees won back the right
of the Jews to practice Judaism thereby preserving monotheism in the world. The
Maccabees also reestablished the political independence of the Jewish people and
rededicated the Temple in Jerusalem. Hanukkah proclaims the message of the prophet
Zachariah: "Not by might, not by power, but by My spirit." Do
