Jewish Holiday CalendersJewish Holiday Calendar 57682007-2008"The holidays are the jewels on the crown of Judaism." (Karp, The Jewish Way of Life) The calendar below contains the 2007-2008 Gregorian calendar dates for all Jewish and Israeli holidays, festivals and days of mourning. The Jewish calendar begins with Rosh Hashana (New Years), which usually occurs in September or October. Thus, the Jewish Year straddles two years of the civil calendar. The Jewish day begins and ends at sundown. Thus, all holidays begin at sundown of the day preceding the date shown and end at sundown of the (last) day shown. In addition to providing civil dates for the Jewish holidays, this calendar provides links to information about each individual holy day. To learn more about the origin, meaning and observance of each Jewish holiday, click on the name of that day. Holidays begin at sundown on the evening before the date listed.
