Question

Did women attend worship services and pray along with men in ancient Israel?

Answer

Jewish worship has always been the same, both thousands of years ago and today.

The Talmud speaks about a special women's section at the Holy Temple, to prevent
the intermingling of sexes during prayer. Prayer is supposed to be about communicating
with God, not a social event where men and women are being distracted.

Both men and women have a Torah obligation to pray every day. The difference is that
men pray with a group of 10, whereas women are regarded on a higher spiritual level
and thus are able to achieve sincere prayer alone.
