Question I
live in an isolated area but like to perform my daily obligations to G´D
as much as possible. At this moment I recite Kaddish as part of my prayers (Shachrit
& Minchah) alone by not opening my lips during prayer. Is there a Halakah
(Jewish Law) ruling about trying to form a Minyan (10 men who prayer together)
online? Answer
If
you look at the Kaddish, you will see that it makes no mention of the dead. Rather,
it is a prayer that proclaims the greatness of God, and saying this prayer in
private doesn't accomplish its purpose. If there is no Minyan around, one should ask another descendant of the
deceased to say the Kaddish. If that is not possible, someone should be hired
to say the Kaddish in a synagogue with a Minyan - (source: "Code of Jewish
Law" O.C. 132, "Biur Halacha - Ma'amar Kaddishin" there). May
we know no more sorrow, and may the Almighty comfort you among the mourners of
Zion and Jerusalem.
