Question

Are the Boundries of Goshen, the area of Egypt in which the Jews lived during their years in Egypt known? If yes, please tell me: 1. What are the believed boundries? 2. What are the sources in which one could look to read about it in the original?

Answer

"Goshen" is not demarcated in the Torah, Talmud or Midrash. However, it appears to have been situated in the northeastern section of Egypt; east of the Delta. The city Ramses, was in Goshen - (source: "Rashi" Genesis 47:11). See "Ancient Egypt" by H. Kees, that Goshen is widely believed to be "Wadi Theilat," between eastern arm of the Nile and the "Great Bitter Lake."
