Question

Recently I met a wonderful man, fell in love with him, and got pregnant by him. Then I found out that he is married and that I was not his only girlfriend!

His wife has found out about me, contacted me, and even sent me pictures of their wedding. I could tell by the wedding pictures that he is Jewish.

Now both he and his wife want to hide everything that has happened with me - even the baby! If i had know he was a married man, none of this would ever happen. I think he is scared to tell anyone because of his beliefs. What should I do? I am so confused. I am torn between just walking away from him and between letting his family know.

One more question - is Simmons a Jewish name? My mother's maiden name is Simmons as well.

Thank you for your time.

Deb

Answer

Dear Deb,

Simmons is generally not such a Jewish name. If he is married, you should just have the baby and leave him out of it. If you don't want to raise the baby, you can put it up for adoption, there are many families who would be very grateful to have him/her. If the man is honorable, he should be helping you financially.

With blessings from Jerusalem,
