Question

Is it possible for a Mohel to perform a circumcision on a male infant where the father is Jewish but the mother is not? Both mother and father want the child to be circumcised by a mohel.

Answer

The answer is yes. The mohel would sign the certificate as "l'shem gerut" ("for the purpose of conversion"). To complete the conversion of the baby, the baby must go to the mikveh and then being raised uniquely as a Jew.
