Leah

Leah was one of the four Matriarchs (Imahot) of the Jewish People.

Leah was the daughter of Laban, the older sister of Rachel, the wife of Jacob (Yaakov), and the mother of Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and Dinah.

Leah's father, Laban, tricked Jacob into marrying Leah. Jacob preferred Leah's sister, Rachel, because Leah's eyes were "tender." Leah bore six sons and a daughter. It is said that God pitied Leah as the unloved wife, and thus gave her so many sons.

Jewish tradition remembers Leah as being honorable and pious.
