Pledge of Allegiance to Jerusalem
Part 1: The Rally

The January 8, 2001 rally in Jerusalem, attended by some 300,000 people, has been called the largest gathering in the 3000+ year old history of Jerusalem.

The non-partisan rally, organized by Natan Sharansky, was meant to send a message to the world and to the Palestinians that the Jewish people will not abandon Jerusalem.  "Jerusalem is not a question of borders or security, but a question of the identity of the Jewish people," said Sharansky.
