Born Irving Wexler, Waxey Gordon was a Jewish American mobster in the early to mid-1900's. After running Arnold Rothstein's East Coast bootlegging operations Gordon started his own rum-running empire that included speakeasies, gambling casinos and nightclubs. Earning over $2M per year by the mid-1920's, Gordon was known for living an extravagant lifestyle that included a ten-bedroom apartment in Manhattan and a New Jersey castle with a moat.
